14 DPO and low beta

Anonymous
I just got my 14dpo beta (9dp5dt) results back: an uninspiring 34. The nurse didn't even say congratulations, just that we should be "cautiously optimistic" (and I was not convinced). I go back on Sunday for another test, and for the time being I am officially in beta hell.

I know there is hope, and I know we won't really know much until the second beta comes back. But boy would I love to hear some wisdom from experienced people...

Try not to worry too much. It's low, but 14 dpo is not really very far out either. If the embryo has only recently implanted, then the hcg levels wouldn't be very high.

A good friend of mine had a couple of low (<100) betas. One pregnancy didn't progress, but the other did...

I had a beta of 75 at 16DPO, and everything turned out fine (he is 18 months now!). At the time, I was too ignorant to know that it was on the lower end, which is probably a good thing. Best of luck to you!!!

My best friend had a beta of 29 14dpt of an 8 cell embryo, and her son is going to be 7 this month. Mine was 1451 at the same point and I m/c at 6 wks so you are right to call it "BETA hell" cause the numbers can be all over the place.
