How long for Virginia plates to arrive?

I know everything is slower these days, and I'm not complaining, just wondering: If you had to get plates in the past six months, how long did you have to wait?

We bought a new car on 5/7, permanent plates arrived this past Friday 6/4.

Bought May 15 and tags arrived June 5, so three weeks.

I bought from a dealer in MD, but I live in VA. I was skeptical that they would do everything for VA, and my temp tags were 45 days instead of 30, but registration and everything came in under a month. Maybe 3 weeks.

Similar. Didn’t arrive until the day before the temp tags were to expire.

Just wondering if any of you have had the tags expire. We bought in mid-April, but the dealership did not notify us until a week ago that they were missing a piece of information for our application. They just submitted for plates last Monday and our tags are due to expire this week. We were told that finance can issue another temp plate for 30 days which it looks like we'll need since it seems like everyone is saying 3-4 weeks.

I had my plates arrive the day before expiration, above. I called the dealer a couple days before, and, as you noted, they said to come over and they would issue another temp tag. When I got there though, they were able to tell that my plates had been issued so they couldn’t issue another set of temp tags. Tags ended up arriving the next day.
