What color shoes with white/blue floral dress?

Anonymous
I have a white and blue floral a-line dress for my sister's 1 pm wedding next month. It hits just above the knee. I have no clue what color shoes to wear. Black seems too severe for a daytime event. Beige clashes with the white. Do I get white shoes??? Please help.

You are right that black and beige are no good. But, seems too early for white. Any chance that navy blue sandals would work?

What about silver and a silver clutch bag?

I think black sandals would be cute, maybe with some white accents to make them seem more summery.

I second the silver. Navy and black don't seem to work together, in IMHO.

I think silver would work too, or gold or some other metallic. You could also do red. No to beige, white, black or brown.

OP here. Silver! Yes, that would totally work - never crossed my mind. And I also like the idea of the black sandals with white accents, though those might be more difficult to find. Thanks everyone!

bright yellow sandals with a heel you're comfortable in.

I was thinking more a brown, strappy sandal. It's daytime and seems to be a more casual affair, right?

The OP never said the dress was navy blue. I assumed it was a royal blue.

Definitely not brown. A metallic is much more current and stylish. No, no, no to brown.

Another thing to keep in mind is heel height.

If the dress is a-line and above the knee, that's a recipe for a 'look at my undies' experience. You might want to avoid high heels. I don't have a image of the dress, but in my imagination high heels + short a-line may make for a slightly 'less sophisticated' appearance.

A kitten heel or something no more than 1.5 inches might be best. ???

Anyway, something to consider. Dont' you love getting advice from strangers?!

I second the yellow suggestion and really don't understand the poster who said, "Ewwww"....I think yellow would look great with a blue and white dress!
