We are looking to move to the Tilden woods neighborhood in Rockville . Does anyone have feedback on the local schools especially farmland elementary?
thanks!

We live in Old Farm. Our kids are still in preschool, but I've heard great things about Farmland -- good teachers, nice level of diversity, high parent involvement. The school is being renovated right now and is due to reopen in fall 2011, so it will essentially be a new school. I've heard that Tilden MS is also due to be renovated in the next few years or might possibly move back to the facility on Tilden Lane (now being used as a holding school for Cabin John MS). WJ is supposedly excellent. The neighborhood is great.

OP here. Thanks so much - we are nervous about the move so its re assuring to hear your feedback. Appreciate you taking the time and trouble to respond. Any suggestions for pre-schools as we have a soon to be 3 year old as well ?

I've heard goood things about Geneva Day School on Seven Locks, and I think Faith in the Methodist Church on Montrose is supposed to be good. There are also a couple of Montesorri schools as you head down Old Georgetown (Manor?) toward Bethesda. For full-time, preschool-based daycare, I recommend St. James Children's School, Little Acorns, and Rock Spring Children's Center
