How big is your 15 month old?

I thought mine would slow down once he started walking/running at 12 months but instead he just gained more weight and grew taller! He is 34" and 30 pounds at 15 months. That seems abnormally large to me. Do you think he will slow down at some point? DH and I are regular sized people (5'7" for me and 5'10" for DH).

I just looked back at old stats on my formerly huge baby and he was also about 34 inches and 30 lbs at his 15 month appointment. He’s now 3.5 and still big for his age but he’s not growing at the same rate as he did as a baby. He wears 5T clothes now and he’s the same size as some of the smaller boys in his older sister’s kindergarten class. But on the other hand, he’s not even the tallest at his preschool right now. I think it all starts to even out a bit as they get older, although he’ll probably end up on the taller side as an adult.

My son was also big, 33.5 inches and 28lbs at 15 months. He's now 2.5 and 39 inches but only 31 lbs. Weight gain significantly slowed down just before his 2nd birthday, and now I'm worried about him not gaining enough weight instead, ughhh.

95% for height and 75% for weight. He's wearing 2T, but coming up on 3T soon.

Your son weighs more than my 3 year old

That's definitely bigger than average but there's a wide range of normal. If you have concerns, talk to your pediatrician.

Just FYI, some kids never slow down. People always say, they’ll slow down when this happens or that happens. But lots of 95th+ percentile babies become 95th+ percentile kids. Of course there are peaks and valleys but they may just always be bigger than average

This.
My niece is 6 and has been 95th percentile for both height and weight since she was 2mo. Everyone kept telling my SIL that her growth would slow down when she started eating solids, when she slept through the night, when she started walking, etc. Never happened. My nephew (her younger brother) is 3 and trending the same.
BIL is average height and build, SIL is very petite. We aren't sure where these genes came from!

Yes, I remember people kept saying my sis would slow down. She's 6'1''. But there's nothing wrong with that, being that tall helped her be a good goalie which she used to get a soccer scholarship.
