Best [mens] pro team ever ...

I am proposing that the 2009 Barca team was the best ever.

1) They won the treble: La Liga, Copa Del Rey, and Champions League (beating a Man U. team with Ronaldo and Rooney in their prime).
2) Pep G. was their coach
3) Their lineup included the following: Valdez, Puyol, Pique, Alves, Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Eto, Henry.

To me Puyol, Henry and Pep as coach make them better than the 2015 Barca squad. What other teams rank up there? Maybe the Man U treble teams with Beckham? Or the Bayern teams with Muller, Ribery, and Robben in their prime?

Pretty good choices. 1988-1990 AC Milan teams, which won two Champions Cups, are also up there. They are the ones that cause the change to the offside rule.

No, you're right. That Barca team was the best. Iniesta and Messi made it. This recent Man City team could have been close, but Pep messed it up. Why would you put the best running at you midfielder (KDB) at striker I will never know. Man City is a team that needs to be moving at you. Pep decided on a team that could kick the balll around. It didn't work out. Now he will realize that and maybe pick up Harry Kane. You can't just have a bunch of midfielders. You must have a presence that will put the ball in the net.

They won the premier league and were in the champions league final. So yes you can have a bunch of midfields and win. It’s not like Chelsea has a presence that will put the ball in the net.

Yes, those AC Milan teams were great too. Agreed.

With Aguero aging and not being utilized much and the MC style not being super conducive to leveraging Sterling’s best asset (speed), that was Man City’s weak spot. Had City been armed with an in prime Henry, Eto, Messi, Drogba, Lewandowski, or Mbappe (just one) things would have turned out differently I believe. That’s what made those Barca teams so great. Not only did they have the great midfield and solid defense but they had multiple world class players up top too. This is why Man City has never won UCL, I believe. If they pickup Kane (or similar) perhaps they will.
