| Baby is 6 month old but never takes more than 6oz at a feeding. Most feedings are 4oz and often he wants just 3oz and won’t take more, but gets super fussy just 2 hours later, like a newborn. This is the first week I’ve given him expressed milk so I know how much he’s eating exactly at each feed. Before, he was breastfed so I didn’t know how much he was eating each time, but again, he would want to eat every 2 hours or so, even when he nurses for 30 mins. Any way I can change this? He also still needs 2 night feeds. It may be because my breasts have a low storage capacity (not low supply though because they refill fast)- when I pump the most I generally get is 2oz on each side. |

This was my baby. He never ate more than 4oz of expressed bm at one time. He ate every 3hours or so, nursed overnight, etc.
He's this way still at 3. He eats when he is hungry. He eats 3 meals and 2 snacks. Sometimes he eats 3 bowls of chili during a growth spurt and then asks for food before bed or at 3am. This is akin to cluster feeding IMO. If he's on his growth curve and having enough wet and poop diapers then this is him. It's not convenient but my kid has amazing awareness of satiation and hunger cues. He will stop eating sweets when he is done. Hes given me half a cookie before and said thanks mommy I'm all done. When he asks for more I know he is hungry. |
| Fellow grazer mom and it’s not gotten better at 1. I’ve been able to be home with her but she’ll be going to daycare soon and I’m worried about how that will work there. I tried for a long time to get her on a schedule and eat/drink full portions but it never worked so I gave up. I think it’s just her and like the PP I assume it’s something we’ll deal with for many years. |
