Any interest in adding a [GIRLS] or [BOYS] thread indicator for the new season?

This was brought up about a year ago with no real resolution, but there has been some thought about adding a designator to thread titles for [GIRLS] or [BOYS] discussions (or [BOTH]) when starting new threads on DCUM.

Is this something worth examining for the new season? We seem to frequently see threads get confused in discussions as people don't know if they are talking about a girls team coach or a boys team coach and discussions often criss-cross endlessly between different sets of parents. Jeff didn't seem that interested in a Boys/Girls breakout of this group, but was wondering what people think of the idea going forward?

I think even if its indicated, people will still add their 2 cents about the other gender just to add to the conversation.

How would you implement such a thing? I suspect Jeff would sooner just see the soccer forum disappear than do anything to raise the signal/noise ratio here.

I think it's just voluntary on the part of posters, but if enough start to use it people will follow that process (or at least some will)

No interest in a separate forum thread based on gender. It's informative/helpful to understand what Parents are thinking about club soccer, elite soccer, recreational soccer and OP's across the board.

oh ya don't forget about the marketing intern from Juventus, because somehow a professional club in Italy wants to put together lower level travel teams in the DC metro area and recruit them for the italian youth national team.

It would probably be helpful.

Agree. If you start a thread specific to a particular gender (or age) please qualify it in the title. Self-imposed optional, but courteous standard.

Also, like an online news site Jeff is trying to sell Ads so as long as people religiously come to this forum, the soccer topic will stay.

I will definitely start doing this.

It seems to have worked well in the Real Estate forum when people take the time to indicate whether they are talking about homes in MS, DC, or VA.

Just start doing it. It certainly won't hurt. If other start doing it, great. If not, oh well.

While it makes sense, it might cause other problems such as sex discriminations due to not having a gender-neutral or LBGT, etc.

What makes those leagues elite?
