good movies and TV shows for 13/14 year old girls

Hi all - I'm looking for good shows/movies that my 13 year old and I can watch together. Something fun... but also relatively appropriate. While she is 13, she is an old/mature 13... Thanks in advance!

What does she like? What do you like? By 13/14 most things are “appropriate” so you’ll need to give a bit more definition here.

Do you consider the Handsmaid’s Tale appropriate? This is Us? Old Gilmore Girls?

Whatever she wants. At that age, my kids could watch anything.

For TV, my DD likes stranger things and Friday night lights.

For movies, she enjoys a range of movies and especially enjoys watches them with me. We’ve watched Clueless, Dirty Dancing, Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and all the other movies you’d expect. It’s a great age because they really start understanding more complex and mature movies.

My 12yo loves Friends, Gilmore Girls, Stranger Things. Veronica Mars is a great idea!

My 14yo daughter and I have loved The Good Place, Parks & Rec, 30 Rock, and Schitt’s Creek. Our family likes sci-fi, so we’ve also watched The Expanse, Firefly, Star Trek TNG and Voyager, and the X Files.

I know she’d love Buffy, but some of the relationships are a bit intense and adult for this age. I thought about just doing the first season, but I know she’d never want to stop. I’m just not quite ready for the discussion some of the Spike-Buffy stuff would require. When she’s a bit older, though, it will be a great intro into discussions about consent and about sex and relationships and emotions.

Mine is obsessed with Grey's Anatomy. I'm trying to get her to watch E.R., but no luck so far. Also failed with Dawson's Creek. She liked Gilmore Girls and Glee in the past. We liked Derry Girls together.

We are watching the Israeli show Baker and the Beauty, and the Danish show Rita.
