Infertility Support and Discussion
|
I tested positive on two HPTs and the blood test at doctor's office, but then got my period 10 days later than expected. So I take it as an early miscarriage.
Well, I'm now on day seven of very light bleeding. Basically a panty liner or two a day, but it just keeps going. (My period is usually quite light -- one or maybe two days like this, but not a week or more.) Is this normal? Will it likely it run its course on its own, or should I see the OB/GYN for a check up and possible D&C? We'd like to start TTC again as soon as possible! |
| Go to the OB/GYN. They can run some tests to see if it is a miscarriage - it may not be. But if it is you want to make sure that your hormone levels go back down. If they don't then you may need a D&C. Good luck |

With my early m/c (it was 5 weeks old) my OB gave me 3 options: 1) let my body naturally m/c; 2) take misoprostol (makes your uterus start contracting to expel the material) or 3) D&C. At the time, I wasn't up for a day at the hospital for a D&C, so I did the misoprostol on Saturday and went back to work on Monday. Cramping was bad but with rx pain meds, I slept through a lot of it. It wasn't fun, but it was over.
So sorry for your loss. Hope you get a chance to do something nice for yourself. |

Thanks everyone. I'll call the OB in the morning.
As an aside, it's been so nice having support on this board. This definitely feels like a loss, and yet it's helpful to read about others' experiences -- how common it is and how many people go on to get pregnant again soon after. Hopefully we're lucky that way, too. |
