Spouses allowed to come to appointments?

Anonymous
Are anyone’s spouses allowed to come to appointments? I have an ultrasound scheduled and Dr. Office is still saying no +1s.

Nope. Not at Foxhall.

The regular OB and the ultrasound center, yes, spouse allowed. The MFM, no spouse.

GW just changed its policy a week or two ago and is now allowing a +1

I’m with the WHC OBGYNs (and MFMs) and one person has been able to come to all of my appointments.

They only allow it for confirmation US, and anatomy scan at my OB office.

Not at Kaiser Permanente. Really kind of a bummer, esp on anatomy scans.

I'm at WHC with the midwives, and I've been allowed one adult person at all visits, including ultrasounds and regular visits, for at least a month or two now. I'm 27 weeks, and I think only my very first appointment I had to go alone.

My MFM is always +1. OB has a no visitor policy even the baby at the 6 week appointment.

Reiter Hill just started allowing spouses at ultrasounds.

No +1 for my MFM. My OB only allows a +1 for the ultrasounds. Wondering if either of these will change soon since both of us have been fully vaccinated for a while.

Foxhall just told me plus one can come if they are vaccinated

Georgetown has been allowing partners at appointments since at least November (big reason why we chose them).

That’s insane. Where is baby supposed to go?!? Spouses and family are usually backs here they belong by then, and who trusts a stranger with a six week old baby?!?

I’m so jealous that some of your obs are changing policies. I really wanted Dh there for my 20 week ultrasound. Because I didn’t have a person there with me- the radiologist didn’t talk the entire appointment or point anything out. In fact I could even see the screen. So different than my prior two pregnancies where Dh was with me. It made me really nervous something was wrong.
