So what actually happens on Friday May 28th, when there are no more capacity and mask restrictions for vaccinated people? Maybe I'm just overthinking this, but I'm feeling like I'm missing some information? Is the executive order rescinding the restrictions all we are to expect in terms of guidance from Northam? Maybe more isn't necessary, but it feels like with the constant communication about changes and revisions over the last year, this all feels a little light on details.
I've read the executive order, and I suppose it's pretty self explanatory, but I'm feeling like it's too good to be true? https://www.governor.virginia.gov/media/governorvirginiagov/executive-actions/EO-79-and-Order-of-Public-Health-Emergency-Ten-Ending-of-Commonsense-Public-Health-Restrictions-Due-to-Novel-Coronavirus-(COVID-19).pdf Practically speaking, are we to look at the signs on doors to see whether a mask is required? Or assume in absence of a sign they aren't required? |

Even with the sign, people without masks generally aren't bothered. I think the counties might have a separate mandate in place.
I have seen restaurants already ignoring capacity restrictions. |
|
Yes, look for signs on doors and respect the requirements for specific businesses - especially small ones.
I've started to go indoors maskless in a few places, but it's still courteous to respect the rules of someone's business. |
| I thought the mask mandate already went away and the 28th was just easing capacity and social distancing. |
Agree with this but I’ve also made it a point to tell small business owners that I will not shop there until they remove mask mandate. Hate to do it, but I’m not supporting this in any way. |
Why? That makes no sense. |
Small business owners have the right to do what makes them feel comfortable. Your stupid political views shouldn't change that. |
I go out of my way to support small businesses that have mask rules since my younger children cannot be vaccinated. |
Of course they do. And I have the right to say, I'm sorry, I'm not wearing a mask any longer. I really hate to do this because I love your small card and party shop, but you're forcing me to go to CVS or Target to buy the gift cards I need. I will not wear a mask again, period. |
Don’t Target and CVS still have mask mandates? |
Nope. Not at all. I’ve been shopping maskless at both for over a week |
| ^most big box national retailers have dropped the mask mandate |
| Northam lifted the mask mandate for vaccinated people 2 weeks ago, May 14. May 28 is the lifting of all capacity guidelines for businesses. Maybe for social gatherings, too, IDK. |
Presumably you’re wearing a mask, as is their right to require, while you complain in their face. Otherwise, keep your breath and spittle to yourself. |
+1. My dollars my choice. |
