If you had multiple losses from natural conception, did IVFw/ PGT result in a successful pregnancy?

I’ve had a couple chemicals and a blighted ovum and think I’m in the midst of another chemical. I conceived my one child a few years ago on the first or second try (natural), then all the losses were after that. I hadn’t been pregnant or tried before I had my child. We are thinking IVF with the ability to test embryos is now the way to go because while the miscarriages weren’t tested, they seem to be due to egg quality as they are early losses.
Just wondering if anyone with similar early losses then went on to have success with IVF-PGT. I’ve had initial testing done which doesn’t indicate anything so the theory is that my eggs are just old. I do have a decent number of follicles.

I have the same question. I've had four losses around 6 weeks all natural conception. My RE doesn't think IVF would help me, but I see so many other people going this route with other Drs. I would love to hear if anyone had success and what that looked like.

Early losses are not always due to bad egg quality. It's the first thing that REs say, but they are not always right. Have you thought of an RPL panel? Maybe check out that before going done the IVF rathole

No, specifically because egg quality was so bad that our embryos never made it to blast to be tested. Our extensive RPL testing all came back perfectly clear, so our early losses (all between 5-6 weeks with low HCG) and zero blast rate over 3 IVF cycles made it clear it was egg quality and we need donor eggs. Dr. Abassi is a good RE in the area to see for a second opinion on RPL.

Have you tried DHEA?

OP here, thanks for all the responses. I haven’t had an RPL panel done. What does that test? I had the standard testing done which came back normal. I’m 40, so that assumption is that most my eggs are not good quality so it’s just a matter of finding the right one. I had a long stretch of many months where we didn’t conceive at all and so I guess the idea was that if we wait longer and try naturally that it be much longer until we conceive on our own again, and could again run into a bad egg.

it's really whackamole. I had the assumption that my eggs were bad, and since i'm adopted i don't really have a huge attachment to my unknown genetics, so we went straight to DEIVF after several 9-week natural and clomid losses. We only got two good embryos from 10 fertilized. (18 mature eggs from a proven donor.) so despite a good SA and karyotyping and gene testing, there is likely something going on with male factor that just isn't identifiable. and then we lost the best PGT-normal at 9 weeks again. currently 31 weeks with our last embryo; we also did a kitchen sink protocol for this one, so even though my RPL and RI panels were clear, we did lovenox, prednisone, and claritin for the final transfer.

RPL panels will generally test various clotting issues to see if you need to be on blood thinners. RI (reproductive immunology) will also test other things like if you mount an immune response to your spouse's sperm, or if you have high natural killer cells. In DC, Dr. Abassi is the one to see for RI testing.

Thanks for the info. Would these immune issues come on after the birth of a first child? I’m experiencing secondary infertility after conceiving and carrying relatively easily. The assumption is that egg quality has gone down since then since I was in my late thirties then. But I’ve wondered if baby aspirin could possibly help.

many people experience secondary infertility specifically after having a male first child, and there is some thought that there is an immune response that IvIg can help with. ( https://academic.oup.com/humrep/article-pdf/19/12/2946/6952018/deh516.pdf ) Baby aspirin can help with some clotting and implantation issues and is not likely to have a negative impact on a healthy pregnancy.

I would also ask RE about whether you should take progesterone.

Immediate PP here. Also TSH and other thyroid workup (may be part of the RPL panel).

I am dealing with this now, about to start IVF with PGT after 3 natural pregnancies/miscarriages over the last 12 months. Did anyone have success?

I’d start Theralogix ovavite which is COQ10 and a multivitamin now so that it will be on-board for a few months before your egg collection.

If your issue is something like MTHFR, IVF won't help. Talk to your RE about MTHFR and taking baby
Aspirin/Lovenox or heparin injections.

If you’re 40 and getting pregnant easily but the pregnancies aren’t getting past 6 weeks that is very likely AMA and egg quality and IVF will help. I had 2 similar losses in 6 months before going to IVF. I still produced a lot of eggs. My second IVF cycle at 40 resulted in 2 successful pregnancies.

I also went down the MTHFR rabbit hole. My RE doubted it was the true cause of my losses but I did treat it (took folate and baby aspirin) AND did IVF. Don’t ignore the obvious age factor in search of other causes. Good luck!
