it's really whackamole. I had the assumption that my eggs were bad, and since i'm adopted i don't really have a huge attachment to my unknown genetics, so we went straight to DEIVF after several 9-week natural and clomid losses. We only got two good embryos from 10 fertilized. (18 mature eggs from a proven donor.) so despite a good SA and karyotyping and gene testing, there is likely something going on with male factor that just isn't identifiable. and then we lost the best PGT-normal at 9 weeks again. currently 31 weeks with our last embryo; we also did a kitchen sink protocol for this one, so even though my RPL and RI panels were clear, we did lovenox, prednisone, and claritin for the final transfer. RPL panels will generally test various clotting issues to see if you need to be on blood thinners. RI (reproductive immunology) will also test other things like if you mount an immune response to your spouse's sperm, or if you have high natural killer cells. In DC, Dr. Abassi is the one to see for RI testing.
Thanks for the info. Would these immune issues come on after the birth of a first child? I’m experiencing secondary infertility after conceiving and carrying relatively easily. The assumption is that egg quality has gone down since then since I was in my late thirties then. But I’ve wondered if baby aspirin could possibly help.
