They do but they really only take freshmen that will play. Similar to the other big schools (SSSAS, GC, Visi) they have more depth and playing time is important so they have swing players to make sure they play and don't just sit the bench all spring.

Putting Visi in the class of other area “big schools” is a stretch. Visi had losses to Potomac and SJC last year. Not ranked in top ten either.

Current Visi parent - I think they will have a good team this year, maybe even very good. They underperformed last year so hopefully they can get some of their momentum back. Big question is do we have any talent coming in to next year’s freshman class?

You will.

The Visi "recruiting" process was abysmal. They could not have done worse if they tried. It would be crazy if Visi somehow ends up with the strongest 2028 recruiting class (other than Battlefield, of course).

Yes. Not good. Hopefully they can regroup but I think the 2028 class may be lost.

I am not really getting that vibe. I think Visi may sneak out a strong class.

Where do you think they are coming from? They are not coming from the top MD teams unless a few are going from Heros. So you are left with Pride and Stars. Most of the top stars girls are public school girls. So a handful from Pride is what will be making up that class.

I think the Hero’s girls are going to public school.

I think some will likely go to McDonogh and/or Glenelg based on what I have heard. But I am sure a good portion will go to public.

Hero's to Maryvale is a big pipeline.

Sorry if it was not clear, but most on this forum probably only care about the DMV Hero’s players and where they may be going to high school. Do you have any insights on that?

Well this post is for the 10% that care about MD players

I’d take the under on that 10%.

I’m a VA parent and very much like hearing about the MD clubs. While I cannot relate to HS convo, I like hearing about how games went, etc with respect to the MD teams because we play them. Don’t see why the same guy is so sensitive to this. Just don’t read them if it bothers you that much. No big deal.

I don’t get it either, this site is major upgrade over BOTC anyway.

What is Battlefield? VA public?

Yes, Battlefield is a Public School in Prince William County. They play in a terrible district and Region, but have started to play more Fairfax teams. They have been solid for the past several years now. If you read a few tags above, they will have about 7-10 girls that play travel coming in the 2028 class. The question will still be, can they win the big game

No

VHSL is changing the way they do brackets for better balance. So they will have to win multiple big games in the tourney now. And the answer remains unlikely. Some of those 8th graders will eventually transfer to privates like PVI, Potomac or BI based on what I am hearing (just like the last good class of 2025’s who had a top attacker and goalie leave).

If that's what you are hearing, then you need hearing aids. Just not accurate.

Still bitter that you had to transfer to a lackluster program?

Has Pride played any of the top MD teams in any of the Fall or winter tournaments?
Anonymous
Club lax rankings has all the results for the fall. Pride is not playing any full field games this winter.

Lost to Coppermine, Eagle Stix, and Crush MD. Tied Maryland United.

Thx. No shame in losing to those clubs. Should be a fun NGLL season.

Beat Sky Walkers twice. Losses to Coppermine and Eagle Stix were by 3 and 4 goals and were both competitive through half.

Results are on US Club Lax rankings pages.

Anonymous wrote:Not a Battlefield fan (at all), but I think this core of club players may push them over the edge against the traditional Fairfax County powers and win them their first 6A state title in girls lax. Couple of those girls can flat out score and some good defensive middies too.

Probably in 2027; maybe in 2026.

It will be an interesting team that I think will be able to hang with some privates especially if one of the top 27 goalies transfers to them as Battlefield coaches are anticipating.

I assume goalie at Private school now but lives in Battlefield district? If she is a 2027 why would she transfer before spring lax?

And I don't mean for this to be asking "why a kid is transferring" not for forum talk just clarifying is she going to be playing 2024 season at Battlefield?

Looks like Visi finally signed a good coach - at least for a year.

Where is the star player from ‘28 who is going to Maryvale coming from?
