I mean good for her for cancelling but to say you are never going to do something that may one day be out of your control one day is tempting trouble.

She didn’t say her fans would ever be in danger, she said that SHE specifically would not do anything that directly will endanger fans, like holding a concert when the whole pit is flooded. Some of you guys are something else! Pick pick pick.

No one has made a cogent argument as to why TS would need to have an arranged relationship. She doesn’t need more fans, money, fame.

Well what she got from him was ads for her concert movie for free during nfl games. The relationship has also increased interest. I think that there is some confusion as to being in a fully fake arranged situation and having a probably casual-ish relationship that is monetized and utilized for other goals besides the relationship itself. Tons of celebrities do that all the time, Brangelina for example was a huge part of Brad and Angelina’s PR for a decade. I’d also put Kylie and Travis Scott there too and Drake and JLo.

NP. The movie showings were sold out prior to them being seen together. She didn’t need him to sell tickets.

Yes but in what universe would the press not be following her every move? Everything she does gets followed and scrutinize and amplified around because she is a huge celebrity. Unless she goes completely hermit mode her every move is going get reported on.

It just seems like people are pissed that she’s not completely becoming a hermit instead of acting like a young single woman actually dating someone. And yes, there is a reason she might date someone famous and not like, a government lawyer LOL. I just feel like she can’t win… Of course, she knows she’s being photographed. She’s going to control her image to a point, any one us would. I’m just not sure what we expect of her besides, just going away and killing herself I guess.

PP. first, you misunderstand me. It’s not hatred at all. I think Taylor is a genius in the way that she handles her career and her image. And I like a lot of her music post-Reputation. But there’s a difference between her being a hermit and having every member of her boyfriend’s family give interviews about her or her being photographed so frequently with a boyfriend. She was with Joe for what 8 years and wasn’t photographed this frequently. She also wasn’t photographed as much with Matty Healy as well. It’s not some organic happenstance. She also wasn’t hanging out with the girlfriends of Calvin Harris or Tom Hiddleston or whoever’s coworkers/ friends. The relationship and HOW she is releasing it to the public is clearly part of a broader strategy for whatever new era she is moving into. I don’t even think the relationship is necessarily fake but Travis, besides being white, is not her usual type and she isn’t his.

There’s clearly a lot of hatred on this thread… Wasn’t just talking about you. Of course she’s orchestrating some of this but don’t all celebs do this? Did you see Ryan Reynolds and Blake lively at the game. I love how Blake is always like “We are so fiercely private, but sure I’ll go with Taylor to this game and totally ham it up and make ridiculous reactions… And then I’ll go on Pap walks with my famous husband every day in NYC… And then I’ll complain madly, about the paparazzi.” Personally, I find Taylor so much more authentic.

The good news if people want to avoid it, you can. The Internet has these wonderful algorithms and it responds to what you like and post and comment on and read about. The less you click and comment on threads like this the less Taylor and Travis you will see. Personally I’m loving it so will continue to wish them well!

A bit of discussion is fine but the obsessing over the minutiae of every single thing they do, and tracking their every move, and analyzing their every interaction, and obsessing over what they say, and seeing them as some kind of superhumans...I don't get it.

If you like her music, great - listen to it, If you like his athletic talent - great, watch a game. If you find their relationship cute, great, saw aww, so cute. But hyperventilating outside a hotel or all the crazy fan stuff or spending pages on here arguing some tiny detail is insane!

+1 That’s exactly what I was thinking. I’m trying to wrap my brain around her level of fame. It’s incompatible to anyone else besides maybe the royal family in London, or our own president. I love TS and her music but why her? What sets her apart from other musicians or artists in this way? It’s like a psychological phenomenon - I’m sure it’s studied. I just don’t get it!
