Sac in ultrasound but BFN

I am the OP of the BFN before period post. Posting again in the hopes I can get more answers as a new topic.

I think I am on day 10 of my cycle. Had an ultrasound for an unrelated pg issue and the tech said she saw a sac and that I was probably 4.5 weeks pregnant. I did 3 hpt today and all were BFN. Had blood drawn earlier today and will know the results tomorrow morning.

Freaking out in the meantime, I don't know what is going on, I am preparing for the worst, that smthg is wrong.

Any ideas?

I got my period 10 days ago (it was 4 days late). I guess it wasn't my period?

I don't have any wisdom to offer, but I'm sure you're really stressed about this (who wouldn't be?!).

How was your period - did it seem like a normal period, was it short/scant? I'm just wondering if maybe you had some bleeding but it wasn't your period and you actually are pregnant? I mean, obviously the tech saw something on the ultrasound that appears to be a sac!

I did have a friend who was TTC, got her "period" (or so she thought, and since she was bleeding she never bothered to take a pg test), TTC'ed again the next month, and got a BFP. She went for a beta and it was through the roof - they thought multiples or maybe a molar or ectopic. U/s showed she was 8 wks pg, not 4 wks. What she thought was her period was not her period after all. Maybe that's the case for you! Not sure why you're still not getting a + on an HPT, but I've heard that some people just don't get them (?). Have you tried a couple of different brands of test?

Please post when you get your beta results tomorrow!

Period was late, 4 days, and shorter and lighter than usual. I tried cvs tests and dollar store tests today....

Will call for results tomorrow morning and post back.

What I don't understand is... if there is indeed a sac, shouldn't the blood test show some level of hcg?

I am wondering if tech saw smthg else....

OP- Just talked to ob.

She thinks it was a mistake and i should wait to see if I miss my period next month..... That what the tech saw probably wasn't a sac. I don't know what she wrot eon the report, but the tech said she saw a very early sac...

I am kind of relieved, nothing is wrong, I was sure that if I was pg smthg was very wrong. What an emotional roller coaster this has been.

Again, so sorry OP.

Sounds like someone needs to talk to that u/s tech. Maybe she needs a refresher course or something so she can properly identify what she's seeing! Seriously, that could jeopardize someone's health.
