Home Depot Gift card - No home - ideas

Anonymous
Wish it was an apple gift card as I could use a new phone. Aunt gave $500 Home Depot Gift card. I've been to Home Depot maybe once. Don't need any appliances or lumber etc. Any out of the box ideas as to what to do when one doesn't need typical Home Depot stuff. I researched and I can't buy gift cards with a gift card - not at HD. TIA.

Home Depot online sells furniture. Do you need any home decor items?

If not, I wonder if you can use it to buy another gift card? I know the store sells others besides their own brand.

Do you celebrate Christmas? They have a great selection of artificial trees and Christmas decorations at holiday time.

They also carry dishes, area rugs, wall art, sheets/bedding, towels, etc. online. Even luggage sets. I think you'll find a lot if you look at their website.

They sell things like paper towels, sponges, chlorox wipes/cleaning supplies, lightbulbs. I would just do a Target run there instead of Target the next five times you need that stuff.

They sell tons of things there, including some furniture and decorations (holiday and other), cleaning supplies. Browse the website and see if there are things you need anyway to free the cash up for the phone eventually.

Plants, furniture, paper towels, toilet paper, lightbulbs, lamps, seasonal decorations, rugs.

I cashed out a $400 Pottery Barn gift card (sent to me by them after a disastrous furniture delivery) at a Coinstar machine. Forget how much I got for it, but it was worth the trip to a grocery store that had the right machine.

OP said they won't let you buy GC with GC.

You can buy paper towels and stuff cheaper at Costco (if you have membership) or walmart. Aunt should have checked with you. Re-gift.

OP. I am on a very tight budget. Actually even the dying phone I was thinking of replacing with an older model, used from Ebay so don't have the bandwidth for seasonal items, luggage or furniture etc.

Aunt wanted to help out as it's not been a great couple of years for me and she was likely re-gifting. She is of limited means herself. We met after 1.5 years. I tried saying no but she felt offended so I took them. I now have 5 X $100 GC.

I am on my sister's Costco membership so get home supplies there. I was just wondering if there is stuff at HD that may be cheaper. I guess paper towels, TP it is for the next 5 yrs.

I tried looking at sites to sell the GCs but with fees didn't think that was a great idea. Thanks all.

Is there a family member or friend that does need hardware who would buy them from you? We’re fixing up a house and spend $500 at HD on the regular.
