Does anyone know if there is a place for adults to just hang out (air-conditioning, bathrooms) without actually paying admission? I’m taking a group of teens there and was hoping to work remotely while they enjoy the park.

Yes- your car. Unfortunately there is nothing outside the gate for you to do.

Just take the day and ride the rides with them or go to the waterpark. It will be fun.

They are teens and definitely don’t want their mom tagging along!

Go to the water park. You can sit there and get some work done.

But, she'd have to pay admission, no?

OP here. I’ll revise my question since it doesn’t appear there’s anywhere in the park that’s air-conditioned to just hang out and wait, without paying admission. Can I drop the teens off and pick them up later without being charged for parking?

There are some fast food restaurants off the Doswell exit. Maybe hang out there. Plus you'd have an outlet to keep your phone/laptop charged.

Pretty sure there’s a drop-off/pick-up lane.

Kids are older, been to KD a handful of times over the years. It's fine. I liked the water park area the best. I would find a chair in the shade at the wave pool and hang out there if it were me.

Busch Gardens in Williamsburg is the nicest amusement park in Virginia, IMHO.

Drop the kids and go to the Starbucks in Ashland.

There used to be a drop-off/pick-up area. There's a Burger King a few minutes away where you could probably hang out for a while. And a La Quinta Inn -- you might be able to sit in the lobby there.
