DC Parks & Rec Camp - any experience?

I've enrolled my 4 y.o. daughter in DC Parks & Recreations "Little Explorer" camp, geared to the 3-7 year old set. This is our first experience with DPR. She is a student at DCPS (preschool), and I'm hoping the camp is not a glorified "after care" program. If you have any experience with DC DPR camp, please let me hear from you. Thanks.
