Play Date ?

Do you normally bring something to the host family?

Want to make sure we are not being rude for not bring snack or other items to a play date.

TIA

We don't bring gifts or snacks. We had friends who used to bring us presents and it always made me sort of uncomfortable. I bring hostess presents if I'm staying at someone's home or perhaps to a dinner party, but playdates are frequent and casual enough that we shouldn't have to shop for every one.

Sometimes my kids bring a toy to play with at the playdate, as a sort of icebreaker.

Nope - your goal is to have more playdates, and have the relationship develop to something more casual.

The best thing you can do is not stay too long (2 hrs is enough with little kids). leave while the kids are still having fun.

Only if you're staying for dinner.

I am the odd gal out b/c I usually bring something: muffins, cookies, flavored coffee, or if it's an afternoon play date, some wine!

But it's how I was raised. You never visited someone w/o bringing something.

12:54: Will you tell more? Was it hard as kids or just upon reflection as adults? Does your twin feel the same way? Is there anything that would have helped if keeping twins together isn't a choice?

What do twins have to do with bringing something to a play date?

Am I missing something?
