Preschool and Daycare Discussion
I have only interviewed one in home day care provider in Arl. Can anyone tell me if the norm is about $1,000 per month? Thanks!
That's on the low end. It's more like $1200-$1800/mo.
We are paying 1k per month in Old Town Alexandria.
We are paying $240/week, so about $1000/month, in DT Silver Spring.
We pay about $1000 a month in Fairfax County. We use Infant Toddler. There is at least one poster on this board that has said $1000 a month is really high, but I honestly haven't seen anything of quality for less . . .
I know providers who charge $250 per week, for toddlers and preschoolers. I personally think that is too much. I keep my rates low, so parents can afford daycare and still have money to live on.
We don't use Infant Toddler but I agree that I haven't seen quality care for less than $1,000. I'm in the Alexandria section of Fairfax Co. |
That is nice of you and all, but the market is what it is. I pay my child care provider market rates because she works hard and deserves nothing less. You shouldn't feel bad about asking the same. |
I was paying $200/week for in-home care in Arlington. They didn't provide food but the care was of good quality.
We pay $1000/month for in-home care in Arlington (includes food) and found it to be the best care and cost for us (we had looked into big centers and nanny shares).
We paid $1000/month in Rockville for a child under 2. Included lunch.
Just for comparison's sake...there is a Bethesda/Chevy Chase based home daycare that regularly advertises on this board...they charge $400/week!!!
