Infertility Support and Discussion
| If I got my period late at night, say like 10:30 PM is that considered day 1 or is the next day considered day 1? |
| Depends on your clinic. SG says full red flow before 5pm is day 1. Other clinics say day 1 is full red flow before midnight. Check with your clinic. |

OP Here, I am not with a clinic...I am just asking because I am trying to figure out when I ovulate by counting days, ect.
My cycle started late at night but was only visible when I wiped. |

If I am cycling with my clinic, I follow their rules for cd1. If I am on my own and just charting, I count it as day 1 if I have any bleeding before midnight. So if I were you and this is a natural cycle, I would count the first time you saw blood as cd1, even if it was 10:30pm.
I am not a "spotter," if that makes a difference. I never spot before my period. Usually the first thing I see is the start of full flow of my period, or it's enough that I know it will start within a couple of hours. If you are one who spots for a few days before you really start bleeding, you may want to count the days differently. |
| Thank you!! |
| I agree with PP that cd1 for a natural cycle should be counted with bleeding at anytime that day. If you are only showing bleeding when wiping, then I would be careful to not count spotting. I spot leading up to AF and wait until I get a decent bleed for cd1 - either by wiping a heavy amount, a decent amount on a pad or some bleeding when I go to the bathroom. |
