Virginia Remote Student Progress tests

Thought I will try here since I am not getting any replies in the other forum. Does anyone know what is going on with the Virginia Remote Student Progress tests? They paused it last week and there is no further information about it. My kid’s teacher does not know.

It’s done for the year. They’ll announce next week when we’re only 2 weeks away from finish this rubbish of a school year

Oh no. Are you a teacher? I hope they don’t cancel.

Yes, part of the committee who decided to call it a year. Get some rest.

Our APS middle school is supposedly administering science this week and reading next week (or maybe I have that flipped?) for our virtual 8th grader, but I was told that there is no virtual test for geometry (or algebra). So weird. There are geometry practice items on the state link we were sent. Anyone hear about a virtual geometry test being given?

OP, call VDOE's Office of Student Assessment.

Our middle school has a testing coordinator role. OP, check with the guidance counselor or anyone in a similar testing role at your school, if you haven’t already.

Not OP, but I emailed VDOE about whether there would be a virtual geometry assessment, and have gotten no response.

So the tests are paused only in FCPS?

Just got a notification they have reopened the tests!

Does anyone know if these tests are available at all in any school for algebra or geometry?

Per FCPS, "the test is available for the Reading 6-8, Math 6-8, and Science 8 SOLs. The test is not available for high school-level math courses (Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2)."

Anyone know if and when students find out how they did on this test? DC despised secret tests.

My LCPS elementary just announced they'd be doing them in June.

My APS student may take them in June. Can anyone tell me by I should have my kid take it? I opted out of reading SOL bc the RI is sufficient. I opted out of science SOL bc it didn’t seem to have a impact. I didn’t opt out of math for the verified credit.
