DC DMV - new tags

I purchased a car from an Audi dealership in Tysons back in early February. I am a DC resident.

I'm still waiting on my tags and registrations from DC. Audi says they are taking their time; it's a little annoying because I need to keep putting new temporary tags on my car.

Anyone have a similar delay?

We bought a new car from a Honda dealer in Bethesda on April 24th and they said they would take care of getting us the DC title and our registration and inspection sticker.

Jst today we got our certificate of title in the mail.

Is this a good sign that we'll soon see the registration card/sticker, and inspection sticker?

Has anyone else had a recent experience they can share? We've been waiting 8 weeks for our DC plates and are hoping to avoid regular 45 minute drives to the dealership to get temp tags.

Yes, the dealer is incompetent and can't be relied on to put tags in the mail.

I think it had been 9 weeks when I finally got my DC tags a month ago. My dealer FedEx'd the two sets of temporary tags, but, oddly, made me drive there (also 45 minutes, total pain) to get the plates.

How does one obtain paper tags if purchasing from a private seller in the current state of affairs?
