| Do you go to the parish several times a week for mass, adoration, etc or do you go once a week on Sundays? Do you volunteer for some of the ministries? What does a “good Catholic” do? |
| I attend Mass once a week and (most) holy days of obligation. I do hold a volunteer ‘position’ at our church but it doesn’t take a tremendous amount of time. DC attend many of the youth activities that the youth ministry coordinates. I volunteer more at the school as I have school-age kids. Once they are all in HS in college I hope to volunteer more at the parish. |
Adoration? |
| Mass every Sunday and sometimes I go during the week if I can slip away from work for a few minutes. The weekday ones are very short and convenient. I can get in some worship and get back to what I was doing. Now I need to find some ministries to join. Maybe music or a service one. I love it. |
Yes, adoration. Most parishes have several time slots for it. Here’s more about it: https://catholic-link.org/how-to-go-to-adoration-eucharist/ |

I attend weekly Mass and have been squeezing in adoration and rosary times while working from home. I serve on 4 parish ministries and especially enjoy service work. My availability has ebbed and flowed through the years with family and work responsibilities. Our kids attended the parish school. What I’ve really enjoyed are the friendships with fellow parishioners and clergy.
A good Catholic does what they can to both grow their own faith and act as part of the greater community. |
| Sunday Mass, holy days and volunteer once a week |
Very good |
| I attend mass weekly and on holy days. My children are in Catholic school. |
| Sunday mass (virtual now) every week, mass on holy days of obligation, my kids are all enrolled in CCD. |
A good person, irrespective of religion, does what they can to to both grow psychologically and act as a part of the greater community. |
+1 |
| I go when I can get there. I really like the non-Sunday mass. I feel like I've to Jesus nearly to myself. |
Please explain “adoration” in this context. |
Adoration is time to spend in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. I've used this video with our teen when introducing them to adoration because unguided prayer time is often hard for them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hHjdLtNOwg Sometimes I go and read, sometimes I have trouble settling my thoughts and just recite prayers from the missal, other days I just go with an intention and see where my thoughts take me. Mostly it's just time to relax my heart and draw strength from my prayers. |
