| Is there a way to close off a front room without building a wall? We still want light to shine through. The door opening is maybe 108 width x 96 height. Do extra wide doors even exist to close off this space? If so, any ideas of where to shop? |
| French doors (pair) |
Unfortunately I haven't been able to find French doors that are 108 in width. Any recs appreciated. |
| Standard French doors are 72x80. So you’d have 14 inches on either side to drywall and frame for the door. You won’t find a door to exactly fill your dimensions without a custom door. |
| You can have glass panels. Google French pocket doors. Or pocket French doors something. Take control. |
| I would stick with standard size French doors and spend extra to frame around it with drywall. In the end this will look better and be less expensive than custom doors. |
| I agree with PPs but there are also glass folding doors and big glass sliders (two stationary panels, two sliding). |
This is what I would do! |
If you want French doors but also want to keep the open feel and not drywall part of the opening, you could do glass on the sides. Some thing like the below pic. However, if you want to work in the space and people will be continuing to use the rest of the house, maybe more closed in is better.

This is beautiful! What did you google to find this photo? I am thinking that we could use sheer drapery on the inside to provide more privacy for work but still let light through. |

Similar (not as pretty) as picture posted: https://www.doorclearancecenter.com/patio-french-doors/4-lite-1-panel-mahogany-prehung-wood-double-door-unit-with-sidelites/
These have internal blinds: https://www.doorclearancecenter.com/patio-french-doors/80-wide-miniblind-full-lite-fiberglass-patio-prehung-double-door-unit-with-sidelites/ If you feel like buying something really expensive: https://arcadiacustom.com/wood-doors/operable-sidelights/ You're going to be looking for patio doors with sidelights if you want to maximize light through that space. |
I'm glad I could help! I googled "french doors with sidelights," but I'm no Eye Candy, so I don't know if that was the best way.

We have something similar to this. Only our glass isn’t see-through. |
| Do the glass panel french doors with two glass windows on the side, but I would do them all in glass (with the panes), not the solid bottoms. That looks exterior-door to me. |

I’ve been thinking about using sliding doors from this company to partition off a larger room for my home office. They can do custom sizes but also have a bunch of standard sizes too. And you can add muntins and cross bars to add visual interest when ordering custom. And you can select a few different glass options. Wayfair also sells their doors.
