Can't stop stress-eating!

Anonymous
This week I have several stressors, and possibly coming into my PMS time (can't easily tell, I have irregular cycles). I cannot stop snacking!!!
What can I do to stop? I can't chew gum, it makes me burp Maybe just drink something?

Don’t worry about the food, take care of the way you are perceiving and reacting to stressful events. Put away the phone and take fifteen minutes for some deep breathing, mindfulness meditation, journaling, etc. Think about the stressful events and how you can frame them in a way that doesn’t trigger your flight or flight response.

Yeah... I wish I had the wherewithal to do that. But I did stop snacking after reading this Hopefully I can come back to this thread and it will help sustain me. And drink non-caffeinated tea throughout...

NP here. This response helped me a lot. OP's issue isn't primarily an eating issue, it's a stress issue. OP, maybe you can start with 1 minute of mindful breathing while outside getting some fresh air. I started this when I got my apple watch, and it really does help. Just getting outside and taking a walk helps me a lot.
