I'm getting married in 8 weeks. When do I send my invitations? I really appreciate help on this.
NOW.

Yes, now. Are you serving food at the wedding to be served by a caterer? If so, they will need a headcount at a specific date - ask them. Usually it's around 4 weeks out. Which means you need to get responses from people before then. And usually there are people who are late or don't respond, so you need to build in a few extra weeks for that. So if you mail now, ask for responses in 3 weeks or so, and finalize numbers in 4 weeks, you are still pretty tight, time-wise.
Even if you are not catering food, you still need to plan, and people expect advance notice of weddings so they can arrange for travel, babysitting, etc. |
I don't think it has to be NOW, but soon. I think people should receive them about 6 weeks before the wedding so I think you have a little bit of time still (but not a lot!).
6 weeks is standard. If most of your guests will be traveling from out of town, you should send NOW unless you already sent out save the dates with hotel info included.
NP here: NOW.
6 to 8 weeks is standard. I'd err on the longer side if you have people travelling from afar. We got married at the end of October and sent out invitations right after Labor day that year.
