Do VA residents have to get a real ID?

| I just renewed my VA license online and didn't bother with the Real ID nonsense. I have a passport so can just use that, but I am also starting to wonder if eventually the whole initiative is going to quietly go away considering they keep postponing the deadline (and it's all incredibly stupid anyway). |
