They're not, necessarily -- we made our rain barrel out of a plastic food-grade barrel of the kind you can get on Craigslist pretty easily (though I found it more convenient to order one from Ace Hardware at the time). Took me about 30 minutes to drill a hole for the spout and attach it. |
