| My youngest is 16 and my other is 18. DH has an adult daughter, but she doesn't have kids and they aren't likely to be in the future. The youngest 2 have sedans, one of which DH drives to work as the kids ride together to school and my HS senior can't have a car on campus next year. DH will likely drive the other car at the time, when it becomes absolutely necessary for us to get a car DH iS adamant about getting an SUV, I know it will likely be comfortable for him as he's over 6', but we honestly don't need the space. I purchased one a few years ago after our minivan died and it's mostly used if we have a 3 kids around, which is 2-3.times a year at most or to drive around the younger kids and friends. Does any still drive an SUV after the kids left the house. |
| I like sitting high. I don't plan to drive a sedan ever again. |
+1 There are lots of small SUVs/crossovers for this purpose. |
Same here, but we also have a large dog, and I do a lot of gardening and have various other hobbies that requires a large trunk space. What I really want is a four door pick up truck, but DH has something against pickups (too country? Low class? Who knows )

same. I don't like sedans just from a personal preference and I prefer to drive SUVs, partially because I like sitting up high and partially it is simply my preference. |
| Both my husband and I have smaller size SUV’s and our kids are all married. Getting in and out is easier than a low sedan and we periodically have to haul stuff and with the fold down seats it’s great. |
| We have 2 SUVs (one midsize and one small) and I think we will always keep one. We drive between our 2 houses frequently and are often carrying a lot of stuff back and forth. And we ski in the winter, which requires decent cargo space and AWD. Plus I like sitting high up, particularly when everyone else has big cars. Now that we drive a lot less with less commuting I think we will swap the second SUV for a small electric car when it comes time to replace it. |
Did you sleep through the last week? |
| My mom drove a minivan well after I left the house. It’s easy to get her golf clubs in and out of and comfy to drive her friends to lunch. |

Test drive the Honda Ridgeline. It’s the unibody (car-based) pickup for people who are bigoted against pickup truck drivers.
But otherwise, you’re a little weird for thinking”SUVs” are some niche concept. This isn’t 1990. Almost nobody buys sedans any more, especially when they have more money to spend. (Teslas 3 and S excepted.) |
Same here, and we also have a dog. Drive what you like, most people I know drive SUVs. |
| I mean, there's a difference between a ford expedition and an escape. Are you talking 3 rows of seats, or just a little crossover? |
| I'm loving the Porsche macan coupe. Beautiful! |
Same for us. We have family in New England so we make road trips many times during the year and appreciate the AWD when we travel there in the winter. We are also tall and are more comfortable in our SUVs than most sedans. |

You need an SUV More with older kids.
They are bigger need more room. Moving kids back and forth college dorms and first apartments. |
