workout pants

Hi I am on quest to improve fitness and lose some weight. I am down 12 pounds and am realizing that the gym pants from target are not cutting it now that I am doing Zumba, step aerobics and running. I heard from friend to try LUCY pants...I checked out website, any tips for best pants for active workouts?

My pants now tend to keep falling under my muffin top And then I keep having to pull them back up mid-workout. Want something comfortable but stays put. Also, I am only 5'3" so has to come in short length. I know a tall order!

I'm 4'11" so I understand the quest for short pants. Sadly, I haven't found any. For me the best are not the pants but the lycra tights. Target has them in calf length. I love mine. They also have a drawstring so you won't be constantly pulling them up. Mine stay in place no matter what I'm doing.

I am a big fan of Lands' End workout pants. Not a place I usually buy clothes for me (DC wears a lot of Lands End though). I have their capris, full length and shorts. They carry petites, too. The fabric is thick enough to smooth over the lumps and pantylines. The fabric holds up well to sweat and a lot of washing. The waistband is wide, so it doesn't dig in. I really can't say enough good things about their workout bottoms. Try the Overstocks area for a better deal.

This time of year you'll probably want to transition to shorts though.

The only petite or short-length running pants I've found are from Lands End. Wait for a sale (or get on the email list and you'll be bombarded with daily offers) and buy everything they have in your size so you can try the full range. I've found that some of the things they sell are huge on me (I'm a petite XS), while some fit perfectly, and there's no rhyme or reason to it. The ones I've kept are well-made and don't get saggy in the waistband.

Would love to hear of other places to buy petite or short-length running pants!

I like the Gap's active pants with the roll over band. they're too long, but I think you can cut the bottom of sweats to be the right length and still look cute. i'm 5'4, so also short.

congrats on weight loss!!! that's a wonderful accomplishment. it must feel GREAT to be in your current predicament, and I hope for you that you'll have to be looking for even smaller clothes in the near future!

Lucy pants are great. I am tall so I have the opposite problem. Lucy is great because they carry short, regular and tall in store. I find a lot of times if you need a "special" lenght you have to order online and I like to try before I buy. There are tons of different fits and I have a pair that are fold over on top and sometimes I just keep them up. Perfect for keeping in the muffin top.

I go to the Tysons location and have always gotten great customer service.

Athleta pants come in short, regular and tall. Also, Lululemon will hem for free.

My Lucy pants are my favorites but they are a little expensive. I also recently bought a pair from Lands End. A little less fashionable, but they fit great and are less expensive.

I just have the roll over yoga pants/capris from old navy for now. They've worked fine for me even as I've lost some weight (still more than fat enough to hold them up though! )

I never have to pull them up or fiddle with them while exercising, but I don't run. (My knees would never forgive me!) I do a lot of fast walking(4+mph) and weight training stuff.

Has anyone tried Hanna Andersson adult sweat pants? They look cute, and I love the way our kids' HA clothes stay in great shape, but I'm not sure . . .
