Lexus NX 300

THoughts on this car? Looking for a smaller SUV. Hate the way the RX 350 drives but I do like the NX300 for how much sportier and sleeker it looks.

Not sure what you hated about the RX350 but you're probably not going to like the NX as a result.

FYI the Lexus NX has been redesigned for model-year 2022, meaning that the new design should start showing up on dealer lots later this year. I think the 2022 looks much better.

If you're looking for a smaller reliable moderately luxurious crossover, that's exactly what the NX is. It is well-liked by people who are not tall, don't have tall passengers, and don't need much of any cargo room. Test drive it and see what you think.

I hated all the new cross over SUVs because they all have teeny tiny rear windows. I test drove the nx300, and it drove fine, but I felt claustraphobic in it.

I tend to agree--this size of vehicle is really small. I think they only work well if you/your family and any potential passengers are petite people.

pp here. I'm petite, which is why for me, the size of the car was perfeect, but those rear windows just made me feel like I was sitting in a tank. I hated it.

But yea, if you are not petite, I think it would be even more uncomfortable.

It’s just me and my kid so small is fine (and actually preferred).

The main thing I hated was the driving/steering of the RX350. Poor handling/steering I thought for a luxury SUV. Hoping the NX 300 is better

Why would I their lower end car be better? Lexus is not exactly luxury to begin with. If you want good handling and a smooth ride, try the Mercedes GLC.

Thanks for their input. I don’t really know anything about cars, didn’t think it was a lower end car just a smaller/sportier version. I’m really not looking for anythjng bigger, but to sit higher, if that makes sense. I’ll look into the GLC but honestly would probably go for the GLA first for size. Even the Tiguan is way too big for me! (Currently drive a GTI that I am sad to think about letting go, but due to a bad back, getting in and out of this car has been really aggravating).

I honestly was thinking Lexus at all but I am also thinking about reliability. Can you speak about the reliability of Mercedes? My GTI has had no issues but i am up to date on maintenance and I don’t drive it hard.

I’d prolly look at the HRV before I do the CRV.

I’m 6’2” with a 2018 nx300. No issues with headroom, legroom in the front seats. The rear seats don’t get used too often but my passengers have yet to complain. It is a small SUV, built with Lexus quality and easy to zip around. The RX is too large with all of the traffic and tight parking around here. Zero issues thus far with 60k Miles.
