Confused about soccer in DC

We live in NE DC. My 7yo recently started playing soccer in Takoma Park but I am trying to figure out what our options are for fall. Right now she has practice once a week and one game a week. Is this the most typically offered at this age? What are other places we should check out?

Takoma Soccer has a fall season and a spring season-- 2nd grade and up have one practice and one game a week. The teams are parent coached. Travel teams in or near NE include PPA (well, NW), DC Fray, Brookland FC (new this year, I'm not sure they are fielding more than 1 or 2 age levels of teams), Dematha Soccer Academy, and Washington Capital United. These are "travel" programs, and in general, are coached by licensed coaches. Little kids usually have 2-3 practices a week, a fall and spring soccer season, and sometimes a winter futsal season. The "travel" programs usually require a year long commitment, and try outs for those programs are happening now.

Many schools in NE have teams that play in Stoddert rec as well. Those teams from what I can tell are also parent coached with one game and one or two practices a week. Stoddert rec teams play against other stoddert rec teams. You can commit to one season at a time.

This made me think...what ever happen to Washington Diplomats? I remember trained with a kid who said he played for them. This was maybe 3 years ago.

There's also Achilles and DCYFC in DC. I think Achilles plays at/near St. Johns, DCYFC usually in the Stoddert/St. Albans area of the world.

The diplomats were in the '80s and early 90s maybe so you're talking 30 years ago. Pre MLS
