What is it about the Peloton design that makes it more dangerous than other treadmills? Genuine question. Treadmills have been around for so long I don’t understand how Peloton messed up theirs so bad.

I’m so disappointed. I was finally going to buy one, like this week, and now it’s not available.

Maybe something about the powerful motor plus not having a guard in back? Surprised they didn't try to retrofit something.

I assume it will be a kit to attach. Are they not supporting workouts? Can they just turn that off so you can't use it? This goes to do one thing and do it well. The tread was a mistake to begin with

Yeah I read that most treadmills have a guard in the back and for some reason pelaton doesn't. Treadmills always have risk of injury but this one seemed to particularly be risky to children in a different way with being pulled right under

Probably nothing. The moms just don’t supervise their kids because it’s Peloton, and they get sucked under.

You can probably get one cheap now.

The tread + belt travels beneath the machine exposed. And since it’s rubber, it’s rather sticky. The video of the boys being pulled beneath the tread is frightening to say the least- and very surprised he was able to escape. The tread, the belt goes into a slot and not exposed to beneath the machine. Not sure why it was recalled but perhaps little fingers could get trapped. All classes are still available at the moment, on demand and live.

I don’t see how it differs from Woodway.

Have you seen the video of the boy being pulled under the treadmill? It's hard to watch, but the boy is ok.

...and the utter insanity of wtf were the parents?

The video going around the news posts show a very young girl walking backwards on the tread and a toddler playing at the end - trying to pick it up. He then gets stuck and the girl (who turned it on by herself) didn't turn it off! Why is this a Peloton problem?? It's a parental problem.

My Sole fitness tread has NO such thing. But I don't let my kids play with it.
