| sorry I don't but this reminded me of a relative who passed away 15 years ago who used to make a great rum cake where the secret ingredient was apparently pistachio pudding mix. |
| Any recipe is fine. The two secrets are to sift all dry ingredients, and to add an extra 1/4 to 1/2 cup more rum than called for when you soak it. |
This is either a red herring to throw us off her very secret recipe or a challenge for DCUM to engineer and create "the DCUM Rum Cake" I'm in, and it's not even Christmas! |

I am reviving this thread, as I make rum
Cakes a lot (contributed recipes above) but my mom loves a rum cake and it’s her birthday on Wednesday and I’m looking for yet another new one to try. Anyone have anything additional to recommend? |
This is great, but don't use dark rum. We like a clear flavored rum - passion fruit is my choice. |
| Gah this reminds me of the time a middle aged secretary at a white shoe firm who gave us a homemade rum cake one year. This was over 10 years ago and I still remember how delicious this was. Wish I had the recipe! |
