Does anyone have a recipe they can recommend?

sorry I don't but this reminded me of a relative who passed away 15 years ago who used to make a great rum cake where the secret ingredient was apparently pistachio pudding mix.

Any recipe is fine. The two secrets are to sift all dry ingredients, and to add an extra 1/4 to 1/2 cup more rum than called for when you soak it.

This is either a red herring to throw us off her very secret recipe or a challenge for DCUM to engineer and create "the DCUM Rum Cake"
I'm in, and it's not even Christmas!

I’ve made this one - it’s neat with the coffee spun - and if you can’t find coffee extract, it’s easy to make yourself, which is what I did https://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/coffee-baba-au-rhum

I am reviving this thread, as I make rum
Cakes a lot (contributed recipes above) but my mom loves a rum cake and it’s her birthday on Wednesday and I’m looking for yet another new one to try. Anyone have anything additional to recommend?

This is great, but don't use dark rum. We like a clear flavored rum - passion fruit is my choice.

Gah this reminds me of the time a middle aged secretary at a white shoe firm who gave us a homemade rum cake one year. This was over 10 years ago and I still remember how delicious this was. Wish I had the recipe!
