I am not a fan of Takis. He doesn’t always consider viewpoints different from his own and his policies also will just deepen the divide between north and south arlington, by making the north richer and keeping the south “affordable”.

I am not familiar with Chanda, but I support his stance on upzoning. All areas within a mile of the metro should be zoned for duplexes. Same true for 0.5 mile from the major roads like Lee highway, Wilson, the pike, Washington Blvd, and glebe.

I wouldn’t be voting “for” anyone if I did vote, which I probably won’t. They’re all the same.

Takis, in particular, was elected by 200 Democrats in rank choice voting. But his campaign posters want you to "re-elect" him. He was not elected in the first place by anyone by the party regulars. He also created huge financial problems when he was president of our condo board. We had three go around with asbestos remediation and structural supports while he tried to play general contractor in an area where he had no training. He will be re-anointed by the Dems because that is only qualification.

The school board is even worse. We had one good WOC candidate and the Dems shut her down quickly. Such a shame since she is smart and practical. Now the likely candidate spends her time writing thank you notes and engaging in edu-speak like "unfinished learning." Thank G-D, we got our kids into private school for next year. Our friends who switched to private said that the kids will need lots of tutoring because Arlington is so far behind in teaching new match and science skills. If work from home continues to us, we will sell and get out of Arlington. I would rather be closer to our kids' school than in Arlington. It is so pretty in Alexandria and people are actually nice.

Hey neighbor! I can’t speak to the asbestos remediation, but he and the grounds committee turned our courtyards into mud, wasted money on projects no one watered, and planted trees without factoring in leaf removal and loss of sunlight on the grounds. He pursued projects that a small group of residents wanted without considering the views of the larger community or the money for maintenance. I’ve watched board meetings and his approach is the same.
