Shortage of microchips and other materials for car makers, how will it impact price?

With the shortage of microchips and other materials automakers use to build vehicles, how will this translate to car prices? I don't NEED a new car, but mine is over 108K and from 2006. I do see some car sales, but less I am guessing because of the shortage. Will car deals be better in another 6months to a year? Also there's the inflation aspect, if that will drive car prices up as well.

Question is, would you buy now or wait another year?
