We are looking at the Ford Escape, Toyota Prime and Crosstrek Hybrid. Has anyone good experiences with these vehicles over the past year? Also, if you used costco amex or other buying programs?

The toyota Prime is just selling now. You couldn't even get it 6 mos. ago. It gets great reviews. We are thinking of it as well. I can't speak to the Crosstrek Hybrid or Ford Escape.

There are some around...but most are the SE trim rather than XSE. You won't have your choice of colors, and dealers are addding a scarcity fee ($3000) to the MSRP! They know you will get $7500tax credit, so they intend to get a large portion of that first.

Wow! I had not heard that. We did drive the RAV4, but are waiting to test the crosstrek.. it doesn't look like the ford is coming out anytime soon

The crosstrek doesn’t have enough power

I personally own a toyota rav4 from 2001 and I've never been disappointed in it. I only had problems with the transmission once, but there are great prices for toyota rav4 transmission ecu repair deals and you know they are qualitative. I think it could be a great investment even though it's an older car. I'm thinking about getting a newer 2019 hybrid model, but I'm still not so sure. I think maybe in one year when my oldest will turn 16 I might give him the 2001 model, and get myself the hybrid one. We'll see, but I definitely recommend a Toyota rav4.
