Please help - I have a question

Anonymous
I am in my late 30s and had some tests done and a polyp was found in my uterus. The doctor wants to remove it because it is supposed to prevent implantation. I have heard the term "natural IUD." I am worried that it is cancer. Has anyone had experience with this or knows about it? This thing is 1.5cm and is not causing me any problems that I am aware of like bleeding or pain. Is this a serious thing or common? Do I need to remove it? Thanks.

I had a polyp removed last fall. Definitely not cancer and no linkage to future cancer risk. The surgery was pretty quick and easy- just a couple of days taking it easy afterwards. Good luck!

pp poster here- forgot to mention that I had my polyp for a couple of years and the only reason I had it removed was because I was TTC.

Yes, I had one also, had it removed, and was pregnant 4 months later.

I had one as well and had it removed hysteroscopically. Easy procedure. Polyps are benign growths and are absolutely of no long-term concern, but should be removed it impeding ttc efforts.

I just had one removed last month and have been trying unsuccessfully to get pregnant for 2.5 years. Not sure if this was the reason or not but my periods seem way more normal now that it is out. Very simple procedure too. GL!

I discovered one the same size as OP during my mock embryo transfer. Was surprised because I had a HSG a year ago and it didn't show up.

I had a hysteroscopy two days after finding it, didn't even cause a delay in starting my IVF meds, and now am 8wks pregnant!

So glad I did it!
