This is a crazy story. Apparently they haven't even cited the officers yet, although they took them off the streets and the email from management says some of the right things. |
|
Did anyone else report this, or only FOX?
These are likely the same cops who look the other way when they see crime. Good luck, Washington! |
| that was a huge oops |
| The good cops are leaving DC. |
The Hill also has a story— https://thehill.com/homenews/news/550253-dc-police-cars-totaled-after-officers-drag-race |
This is not an oops. This is a crime. |
It’s Fox 5, which is not exactly the same as Fox. And yes, the reporting was from emails obtained exclusively by a Fox 5 reporter. |
It’s all under Fox Corp which is owned by Murdoch. |
| Where is the body cam video? |
There won’t be. It’s not on all the time. |
Just wait. |
| My friend lives near there and I walk with my child and hers across that street all the time. They were literally racing next to Kenilworth Park, where there is a track, tennis, hand ball and bike path. This also happened pretty near where the 7yo was shot Saturday. Great example for the community. |
Wait’s over. https://dcist.com/story/21/05/03/dc-body-camera-footage-officers-drag-racing-on-residential-street/?fbclid=IwAR3W_8TO0dfj1ifVvIUWGz7HmPGwa2k1kIg1-Wn-O98Wha6PZLyQkXi-GNc |
| Really wonder whether cop turned on his camera intentionally or it just got turned on by the crash/airbag |
| They should be charged with the replacement cost for the vehicles with pay garnishment to pay the amount plus interest, like a car payment until the amount is paid off. |
