Places to buy new Kitchen Cabinets?

I'm renovating my kitchen and trying to get quotes for moderately priced kitchen cabinets. Can anyone recommend a place? I live in NW DC but I'm happy to drive for good service and a bargain!

I really like IKEAs cabinets - they are well-made and reasonably priced. We have them in our kitchen; when we bought the house we were unaware that they were IKEA, then went out to the store and there they were. They are holding up nicely even with two rambunctious kids under 4.

I believe they have a 25-year warranty, and IKEA will install.

We renovated and put in a wet bar wtih cabinets. We went to Home Depot and were pleasantly surprised with the design and planning service. Our contracter installed the cabinets

We just yesterday placed our order for cabinets with Bob at Ideal Kitchen in Rockville. I had renovated a kitchen in our house in another state before moving here and knew how much it was reasonable to expect to spend on cabinets, and I was simply shocked by the prices I was quoted around here. Bethesda Kitchens, for example, told me it was "impossible" to do cabinets of the style and quality I wanted for the price I knew I had spent for that style/quality in our last house. I sought recs on the Chevy Chase listserv as a result, and got recs for Ideal Kitchen, and I've been very happy working with them. We came in very slightly over budget (less than 1,000) but I ended up getting far more of the "bells and whistels" than I ever expected. I set out to do a fairly basic kitchen and am getting pretty close to my dream kitchen (within my space parameters, at least), because Bob recommended places to cut back and then where to put the savings.

I can't speak to the final layout - the cabinets won't be installed til May - but I have used this brand of cabinets before, and they held up beautifully and looked great. Bob was very easy to work with and came out to our house twice - once to measure and the second time to walk through and talk about each cabinet and drawer and what I would put in each and where i would store everything. He was very patient and comfortable to work with, and "got" exactly the feel of the kitchen I was looking for.
