| ? Too niche and random? |
| I don’t know about undergrad programs with that specialty, but internship opportunities would be the best in Chicago and NYC—if your kid is a strong student, check out Kellogg at Northwestern and Stern at NYU. |
| Newhouse School at Syracuse University |
| Best would be to switch to engineering or CS. |
| Get into digital design and animation. If you're good, it can be quite lucrative. |
| No need for college, just binge Mad Men. |
| I mean, the very very best option? Northwestern. NYU or Newhouse might also be good options. |
+1 for Newhouse at Syracuse |

I love that you're asking this because I can totally see my DS (8) wanting to take this path, or in the movie industry (but not acting/writing/directing). He's fascinated with commercials, jingles, and how people get persuaded to do and buy things, and also with the movie/TV production industry.
Do you mind my asking how your kid got interested and what kind of extracurriculars they did? My current plan is to just encourage my DS to go to college in LA where it seems like all the opportunities would be. |

Syracuse!

I don't think that list is very reputable... |
| Agree with the recommendations for Syracuse Newhouse, and also Northwestern which is tops in the nation for marketing and sends many of its kids into the media and marketing industries every year |
| VCU |
Not sure school matters so much but yeah, being in one of those cities is best. I'm in NYC and know a lot of people who work in advertising. The internship is what is going to help, not a particular degree. Btw, not that you asked, but really hard industry right now. Digital is changing everthing, very competitive, and it's a young person's industry -- hard to hold on for long. |
