Girls High School Club Lax

Help me understand how it works. I do not have a high schooler yet. The teams do not play in a league? They only play in tournaments? Do they practice in the Fall, Winter, Spring? Do different clubs do it differently? If so what clubs do what? Appreciate any details! Thanks in advance!

They do not play in a spring league because the clubs defer to the high school teams. Some/most will have a weekend practice during the spring, but not all do. Once they are in high school they will mainly focus on the summer and fall tournaments. Once high school season wraps up, they will start practicing as a club more often. Some clubs will play in an indoor league in the winter and clubs usually will try to do some sort of practicing over the winter indoors if possible.

so then middle school club is more "time consuming" for lack of a better phrase than high school club? does te high school coach handle recruiting? or club coach? or both? Thanks!

Yes, it is more time consuming because you normally have the spring league with the club and no high school team to play on in the spring.

Typically, your club coach is the #1 for recruiting. But depending on who your HS coach is, they can also be very beneficial. Most HS coaches are also a club coach in some format, a few even own clubs.

Your club coach will be your primary coach for recruiting, and whoever coordinates recruiting at your club. And PP is correct that your HS coach may or may not be helpful (depends where you go to HS). My daughter is a recruited athlete and her college coach never talked to her high school coach. All her recruiting was done at the club level, mostly through the Director of Recruiting. College coaches will be coming to watch you play with your club team at the tournaments (greatest bang for their buck when they can watch a ton of athletes in 1 weekend).
