| Is prep for this stage tied to your period? We just did a retrieval last week, one embryo so far has made it to blast. Three more still trying for a day 6 or day 7. If the one embryo is normal after genetic testing, is the transfer tied to my period? I am due to get a period in a few days, assuming we can't do anything for this one, we will use the one after? Is the cycle length still relatively the same? Or does your period come sooner or later after a retrieval? |

I think this may depend on whether you do a medicated and natural cycle. I did a natural cycle and one thing they did do was put me on birth control for at least 10 days (ended up being a bit longer) and the bleed after stopping was considered day 1 of my cycle. They then monitored me and around the time I would naturally ovulate I did do a trigger injection. Ovulation was maybe a few days later than a non BC induced cycle for me (but I'm sure this varies.) The transfer was scheduled for 5 or 6 days after that. Between egg retrieval and transfer ended up being 3 months for me but I think that time frame can be sped up by a month.
With a medicated cycle I think things are much more controlled and there is less "natural" timing involved but I can't comment since I did not go through this. |
This, except I didn’t go on BC for my natural cycle so it was tied to my regular period. |
| My period started 9 days after the retrieval. Doctor said the transfer will be 3 weeks from when bleeding starts. I'm doing natural so it is supposed to align with ovulation. |
