Sky Zone bday party?

Anonymous
My child was invited to a Sky Zone party and not sure how comfortable we are with this during COVID. Has anyone been recently? What COVID precautions were in place? Did you feel safe?

I would check their website, but I think you just have to decide for yourself whether you’d be comfortable. For me, it’s a no. I’m okay with outdoor activities, but socializing indoors is just not where I am comfortable yet.

We have been super Covid cautious, but as soon as I was fully vaxxed, I agreed to take my kids there since they haven’t gone anywhere fun in a year. It was very empty and distancing was no problem. We were not near anyone. Everyone wore masks except one family, who let their preschooler wear his on his chin the entire time. There was no soap or paper towels in the bathrooms, and the only cleaning I observed during our 90 minutes was one staff member wiping down a random railing. My kids both caught a cold a few days later, which we know they picked up there because they literally went nowhere else in the few days before and after. We think it was from the dodgeball/basketballs or the foam pit, which did not seem clean. It caused a lot of trouble (needed to get Covid test, had to cancel some things out of an abundance of caution), but the kids had an amazing time.

A month ago, I would have declined. I would probably accept now and request that my child not eat.

What a pain! Not worth it.

There are so many outdoor options at this time. Why would anyone have an indoor party at a germy place???

We were just invited to a birthday party and I politely declined. I just don't trust the workers to properly clean and I don't trust other people to socially distance. I would go to a small outdoor party, though.

We've gone on weekdays when it was mostly empty. I haven't been on weekends but I assume there would be more people. I am personally not comfortable with that yet.

I haven’t been to Sky Zone yet but I have been to some of the other indoor play places. They’ve always been pretty empty, with the exception of Jolly Yolly Kids in Fairfax over Presidents Day weekend, which was actually kind of nuts crowded. But it’s a lot easier to spread out at Sky Zone because it’s much larger. So I guess my question is how many people would be using the park for general admission during the time of the birthday party. If it’s just the birthday party you’ll be able to spread out a lot; if there’s a lot of people there apart from the birthday party it could feel crowded.
