| Is there any real correlation between club and high schools? I heard most Madlax kids attend Landon, is that still true? |
Yes and yes.
But there are many exceptions to the trends. |
Madlax kids come from all over - Gonzaga, Prep, St. Stephen's, Landon, Episcopal, Bullis, Paul VI, St. Alban's, St. Andrew's, Potomac, Delaware, North Carolina, Eastern Shore, Virginia publics, Maryland publics, St. Anne's Belfield in Charlottesville, St. Christopher's in Richmond, etc., etc. |
No correlation anymore, the sport has grown so much in the past 10 years.
| Yes and it even effects public schools as some get kids to transfer to the head coaches school just for lacrosse. |
That’s what I find too. Of the 20ish boys on my son’s club team, well over half are attending private school. Most, one particular private school. |
Yes, there are multiple public schools.....I wont name them (but if you are involved in MD public lax, you know who they are)...that poach players from other HS's by getting them to request to be in classes or programs only these coaches specific schools offer. So other teams lose their best players. These coaches run or work for club teams and try to recruit these players to their schools. Its not as common as private schools, but its happening all over.
