Has anyone else seen this? It's hilarious and super cringeworthy. I don't know how I missed this (it came out in 2019) but it was great, I binged it in one sitting. It's labeled as an edgy comedy and the episodes are only 30 minutes long. In the first episode the main character, a single mom, sends her only kid off to college. The show parallels both their experiences in their new roles/environment. I had numerous LOL moments while watching it, I highly recommend it if you're looking for something new and funny. The lead actress is Kathryn Hahn and she's great. |
Loved it and loved the book. Kathryn Hahn was so good in it. Hard to believe she’s the same actress who played the pushy political operative on Parks and Rec |
I loved this too - like anything by Tom Perrotta who also wrote Little Children and The Leftovers. There’s a thread about it here somewhere. Good observations on what happens when your nest empties and also when you realize (or not) that your kid is an ahole. |
I really liked it, too. |
Kathryn Hahn of Wandavision fame?? Nice |
I’m a big fan of Kathryn Hahn. |
I loved the book and loved the HBO series. I was just thinking today about the scene at the beginning when Mrs Fletcher has just packed up the car to take her son to college and then goes to get gas and is looking wistfully at a mom with a toddler in the car. Just perfect.
If you like Kathryn Hahn (and who doesn't?), I highly recommend the movie Private Life on Netflix. it stars her and Paul Giamatti as a couple dealing with infertility. |
Interesting and different show |
Thanks, I'm going to check it out. |
Yes, her! |
I read the book and just didn't love it. I don't know what it was, but somehow it just didn't entirely work for me. That said, I love Kathryn Hahn so meant to check this out. Thanks for the reminder. |
It’s a great show! I hope it comes back for another season.
If you like this show, you might like I Love Dick, a similarly quirky 30 minute show, with Katheryn Hahn and Kevin Bacon. It’s on Amazon Prime. Hilarious. |
