Had an extended abdominoplasty plus breast lift + reduction. Happy to answer any questions!

Are you on bed rest/if so how long? How bad is the pain?
Anonymous
Did your PS pressure you to get implants with the lift?
What was your cup size prior and what is it expected to be now?
How long did they tell you to take off work?
Anonymous
How much did it cost?

Yes, OP — please share cost & who did your surgery. I’m done having kids and look like hell. I have diastasis from twins and my stomach is awful.

What does your DH think?

Be wel, OP. You’re still in the thick of it.
Just a question out of curiosity - what does extended mean? I had a full and I’ve heard it called mini, but not heard extended before.

How long were you under anesthesia? Were there any complications? This is what I am most concerned about.

Second concern. Can you walk post op? How soon? How much can you do on your own immediately after & how much help do you need?

Also, are you local DMV? If so, did you like your surgeon & could you share their name?

Thanks, Twin Mom with extra belly skin and flat boobs.

Good luck OP! I know several people who developed wound infections from the abdominoplasty that required wearing some kind of drainage pump for 6 weeks. They were overweight though, so probably affected their healing.

I would love to hear who you used op! I’m considering a TT with Austin Westin center in Reston. I am very nervous about the anesthesia because those operations take a long time.

I love Dr.Seigel. Which dr are you considering working with? I had a breast augmentation 3 yrs ago and I’ve scheduled a tummy tuck with lipo to abdomen and flanks and an upper bleph for this summer.

Dr Siegel is the one I plan to consult with! I was originally scheduled a few years ago with Dr knotts but had to cancel and he has since moved away. I’m glad to hear you like Siegel!

I’ve had two c-sections and this is significantly worse. I have good days and bad. I spend most of the day in bed because everything is exhausting. For the first couple of days, I left bed to go to doctor’s appointments and use the bathroom. I’m better now, but not great. About 30 mins of activity requires two hours of rest. Sometimes I get by on Tylenol, sometimes I need a Percocet and a Valium. It’s so variable, but definitely more painful by a long shot. I planned to take one week off work (desk job from home) but depending on how things go tomorrow I might be cutting back on hours for another couple of weeks.

Zero pressure to get implants. Apparently I had good volume to work with. Old size was a droopy 34DD, new is perky 34C. I received several opinions on how much time to take off work. Generally 2-3 weeks is good. The key is to be off the opiates and benzos before going back and making sure you can be comfortable. Reclined with feet elevated.

Cost - $18k. Less that I expected. But keep in mind that I did just the TT and reduction. When you add on lipo, implants, etc things get expensive.

My doctor was Dr. Doug Forman at Plastic Surgery Institute of Washington. I cannot recommend him enough. Two people referred me to him and they were right. He’s a great surgeon and genuinely invested in the happiness of his patients. He’s also going to be very straight with you regarding expectations. If I ever decide to do more, I’m going straight to him.
